CURATOR'S NOTE
Cut from white linen, the Glass House maxi dress is worked entirely in Richelieu cutwork — one of the most demanding handmade embroidery techniques, in which sections of fabric are cut away and finished by hand to form intricate open patterns.
The motifs are floral and geometric: circular forms, small blossoms, and cross details in deep blue and black, distributed across the wide kimono sleeves, patch pockets, and the full length of the skirt.
A zigzag stitch in blue and red traces the V-neckline. The hem and sleeve edges are finished with a scalloped cutwork border. A self-tie belt defines the waist. The silhouette is relaxed and generous — structured by the embroidery, not the cut.
