"Tenderness" is a wax wreath built from white blooms alone — a composition that speaks softly. Where its sister piece "Wedding" celebrates the full symbolic vocabulary of the Ukrainian bridal tradition, "Tenderness" distills it: restraint, purity, the precise weight of white on white.

A wreath for the bride who chooses understatement. Equally suited to a small ceremony, an editorial shoot, or a moment that asks for poetry without volume.

The Craft

Each flower is hand-cut from paper, coated in successive layers of pure paraffin until the surface gathers the luminous, lived-in quality of antique wax fruit. Petals are bent and pressed by hand — no two are identical. The foundation is fine wire wrapped in paper, arched into the traditional crescent silhouette that frames the brow.

Glass beads and metallic foil — applied by candlelight — punctuate each cluster. The wreath is built bloom by bloom, approximately 35 hours of craft per piece.

The Heritage

The Ukrainian wax bridal wreath — vinok — is one of Eastern Europe's oldest surviving bridal traditions. In 2020, the technique was inscribed on Ukraine's National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, a recognition that places this practice alongside the Romanian ie (UNESCO, 2022) among the region's most precious living crafts.

Fewer than a dozen artisans worldwide still master this technique. Each wreath we curate is signed, dated, and accompanied by a certificate of provenance.

How to Wear

"Tenderness" sits high on the crown of the head, ribbons cascading down the back. The all-white palette pairs effortlessly with a handwoven linen ie, a modern silk slip dress, a tulle gown, or a contemporary tailored ensemble for civil ceremonies.

Beyond the wedding day, the wreath has become a quiet favourite for engagement photography, editorial fashion shoots, and christenings — pieces of this delicacy are made to be lived with, not stored away.
