White linen midi dress with white-on-white embroidery, Podillia tradition
White on white. An ancient protective motif from the Podillia region, embroidered onto pure linen in a technique that makes the ornament appear and disappear with the light.
A trapeze-cut midi dress in pure white linen, cinched at the waist with a silk-tasselled belt. The shoulders are shaped by layered pleats that give the sleeve its sculptural volume. The skirt falls into lace and embroidered panels that move with the body.
The white-on-white embroidery is the signature of this piece — a technique where the ornament reveals itself only in certain light, like a whisper sewn into the fabric. The geometric motifs are drawn from an ancestral shirt pattern from the Podillia region of Ukraine, where these symbols were stitched as carriers of life energy, strength, and protection.

Koza Dereza was born in western Ukraine — Ternopil and Lviv — and has been carrying Ukrainian craft onto the international stage since 2014.
