This piece is handcrafted exclusively for you by the female artisans of My Sleeping Gypsy in Kyiv. Please allow two-three weeks from the moment your order is placed to the moment it leaves the atelier.

The Merezhivo Strap Dress in red is one of the most labour-intensive pieces in My Sleeping Gypsy's collection — and one of the clearest reasons we chose to bring this atelier onto our platform.

The silhouette is voluminous and straight, cut to flatter every figure through restraint rather than tailoring. The hand-stitched neckline is embellished with twenty-four carat gilded beads, applied one by one to draw the eye to the décolletage. The surface is finished with intricate cutwork embroidery, with hand-cut Richelieu running along the hemline — a technique where the artisan first embroiders the design and then removes the fabric between the stitches, leaving an intricate lacework where the cloth used to be.

Each dress is crafted in the Kyiv atelier by five master artisans over two days. Ten to fifteen hours of combined handwork, every motif placed with intention, every piece a one-of-a-kind object.

Composition & Care Pure linen, sourced in Belgium. Beads in 24-carat gold and silver, galvanised. Dry clean only.
